There are five distinct rooms in tonight's performance. Fluid Flow, Turbidity, Turbulent Flow, Lock Exchange, & Laminar Flow.

In Fluid Flow the dancers gently manipulate the audience through the space; by moving the collective and encroaching on the audience, you choose to travel thereby becoming part of the performance and embodying flow. Or you may choose to stand firm, in which the dancers flow around you creating a different hydrodynamic.

Turbulent Flow is a set movement quartet exploring the changeability of human expression. The dancers move in and out of each other never settling on a leader or follower, creating an almost imperceptible struggle for ownership. The quartet is a transitory balance of physical connection and solo material. This piece was an exploration in the volatility of epigenetics—a turbulent flow of generational impact.

Lock Exchange is a solo work in which one dancer attempts to embody the problem of converging fluids of differing salinities or densities. An impossible task but a fruitful generative process and one that recalls an internal struggle.

Turbidity is a video installation room housing dozens of screens ranging from projections to TV’s to monitors to phones. Each showing different aspects of the creation process. In this way the audience experiences time asynchronously, unable to discern the chronology of the works.

Finally, Laminar Flow is a group work by the whole cast. A fluid distillation of the entire process and movement framework created for this project with the dancers.
